Real Hero Nominations
Do you know someone who has done something extraordinary, such as saved a life or made a positive impact in your community? Each year the American Red Cross of Alaska recognizes extraordinary Alaskans for their outstanding contributions to our communities throughout the state at the Annual Real Heroes Breakfast.
How to Nominate Your Hero!
- The act of heroism must be ongoing or have occurred in Alaska between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011.
- All nominees must be residents of Alaska.
- Nominees selected for recognition must be present at the event* on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
*American Red Cross of Alaska will arrange all travel and hotel accommodations for heroes living outside of Anchorage.
Who is a Hero?
There are heroes all around us. They may be people you know – family members, friends, coworkers – or perhaps strangers whose good deeds you read about in the newspaper or heard about on the evening news. A hero can be someone who bravely acts in a time of immediate need or someone who simply lives his or her life in a way that shows they care for those around them. Heroes are ordinary people whose actions demonstrate the potential that is in all of us. If someone is a hero in your eyes, we encourage you to nominate them.
Nomination Form
To nominate someone as a Real Hero, print and fill out the nomination form thoroughly and competely, so our volunteer committee can adequately evaluate each nomination.
